Ingredients
- 8oz red cabbage, finely shredded, woody stalk discarded
- turnip, scrubbed and grated
- oil
- red wine vinegar
- shoyu or soy sauce
- black pepper
Method
- Finely shred the red cabbage, discarding the woody stalk.
- Scrub the turnip and grate it. Mix with the cabbage.
- Heat the oil in a large saucepan and gently fry the vegetables for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add the remaining ingredients and season with shoyu or soy sauce, and black pepper.
- Cover and cook gently for 35 to 45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender. Serve hot or cold.
