Ingredients
- 100g/4oz white ready-to-roll icing
- florist's wire, cut into small lengths
- non-edible gold colouring
- icing, to cover cake and board
- ribbon
Method
- Roll out 100g/4oz white ready-to-roll icing and cut out eight different-sized shapes with star cutters.
- Push a small length of florist's wire through the centre of each star so it doesn't show.
- Decorate the stars with non-edible gold colouring and leave them to harden on greaseproof paper.
- Cover the cake and board with icing and tie a ribbon around the cake.
- Paint stars on the rim of the board with gold colouring and carefully push in the cut-out stars.
Notes
Uses non-edible gold colouring and florist's wire — ensure wire is removed before eating.
