Ingredients
- 50g (2oz) Cheddar cheese, grated
- A tablespoon beer, cider or milk
- salt and pepper
- a little mustard
- 1 slice white, brown or wholemeal bread
- butter
- chutney, grilled bacon or slices of tomato
Method
- Put grated cheese and beer into a small pan and heat gently to melt cheese.
- Season with salt, pepper and mustard.
- Toast then butter the bread, and spoon the melted cheese over it.
- Grill until lightly browned and bubbling.
- Serve at once, either with chutney or grilled bacon, or topped with sliced tomato.
