Ingredients
- 1 whole egg
- plain flour
- ½ baking powder
- nearly a whole tin lager
- fish, cut into smallish pieces, dipped in flour
Method
- Add 1 whole egg to plain flour and ½ tsp baking powder. Stir in nearly a whole tin of lager.
- Stir lightly - leave lumps.
- Test that fat is hot enough - take out tested batter bits.
- Cut fish into smallish pieces, dip in flour, fry about 1 minute.
- Separate if necessary between batches, fry for 1-2 minutes till crisp, golden and floating. Drain on kitchen paper.
