Ingredients
- 6oz (150g) plain flour, sieved
- half a teaspoon baking powder
- 4oz (100g) butter
- 2oz (50g) castor sugar
- 1 egg yolk, beaten
Method
- Preheat oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4.
- Sieve together 6oz (150g) plain flour and half a teaspoon of baking powder.
- Rub 4oz (100g) butter into the flour mixture and add 2oz (50g) of castor sugar.
- Add the beaten yolk of one egg and knead into a stiff dough.
- On a lightly floured board, roll the dough out thinly.
- Cut into biscuits with a cookie cutter and bake in the oven for 20-30 minutes.
Notes
Serve warm with hot chocolate. Bake for 20-30 minutes.
