Butterscotch Sauce

Ingredients

  • 4 oz (100g) Golden Syrup
  • 4 oz (100g) soft brown sugar
  • 1 oz (25g) butter
  • 2 tbs boiling water
  • 4 tbs evaporated milk
  • 6 drops vanilla essence

Method

  1. Put syrup, sugar and butter in heavy pan. Stir gently with wooden spoon until sugar has dissolved.
  2. Boil steadily for 3 mins.
  3. Remove from heat and add boiling water carefully.
  4. Cool slightly and add milk and essence.
  5. Serve hot or cold.
