Ingredients
- 3oz butter
- 1½lb granulated sugar
- 1 large can Carnation Evaporated Milk
- few drops vanilla essence
- 2oz sultanas
Method
- Lightly grease a 7" square tin.
- Melt butter in a large heavy based saucepan. Add sugar and Carnation Evaporated Milk.
- Heat gently, stirring until the sugar has dissolved.
- Boil mixture steadily, stirring for 20-30 minutes until it reaches 248°F or until a little of the mixture when dropped into cold water forms a soft ball.
- Remove from the heat and add vanilla essence and sultanas.
- Beat with a wooden spoon until it thickens, then pour into the prepared tin. Mark into squares.
- When fudge is set, turn out and cut into squares.
