Ingredients
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 green pepper, sliced
- 1 x 400g (14oz) red kidney beans, drained
- 1 x 400g (14oz) chopped tomatoes, drained, juice reserved
- 2 tbsp white wine vinegar
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp tomato purée
- 2 tbsp Demerara sugar
- 2 tsp mustard powder
- 1 tsp mixed herbs
- 280ml (½ pint) water
- 3 tbsp Bisto Traditional Rich Gravy Granules

Method
- Heat oil in a large frying pan or flameproof casserole dish.
- Add sausages and cook gently until brown, turning frequently. Remove from the pan and carefully drain off any excess oil leaving about 1 tbsp in the pan.
- Fry onion and green pepper in the remaining oil until soft.
- Stir in the kidney beans, chopped tomatoes, white wine vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, tomato purée, sugar, mustard powder and herbs.
