Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2lb potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 large onions, peeled and thinly sliced
- 12oz cheddar cheese, grated
- salt and pepper
- 1 large can Nestlé Ideal Milk
Method
- Preheat the oven to 190°C, 375°F, Gas Mark 5.
- Grease an ovenproof casserole dish.
- Cover the base of the casserole with a layer of overlapping potato and onion slices. Sprinkle with some cheese, seasoning and one quarter of the Ideal Milk.
- Continue layering until all the ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of cheese. Pour over the remaining Ideal Milk.
- Cover and bake for 1½ hours.
- Brown the top under a hot grill for 5 minutes.
Notes
Serve as a supper dish with salad or as an accompaniment to meat.
