Ingredients
- 2-3 slices day-old white bread, crusts discarded, cut into ½in (1-2cm) cubes
- a dash oil, for frying
- knob butter, optional
Method
- Discard the bread crusts, then cut the bread into ½in (1-2cm) cubes.
- Heat a dash of oil in a frying pan with the butter (if using) until it foams.
- Add the bread cubes and toss over a high heat for about 2 minutes until crisp and golden.
- Drain on kitchen paper, then serve.
