Ingredients
- 6 sausages
- 8 potatoes, good sized, peeled
- 1 large onion, sliced into thin rings
- 1½ cups milk
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1½ tbsp gravy granules
- 2 oxo cubes, alternative to gravy granules
- 1 tbsp cooking oil
- salt
- white pepper
Method
- Peel potatoes, rinse and place in a large saucepan of cold water. Boil until soft.
- Meanwhile, place oil into a frying pan. Slice onion into thin rings and fry gently for 1–2 minutes. Place into the saucepan with the potatoes and simmer.
- Place sausages in the frying pan and fry until golden brown. Remove from pan and place on a hot plate.
- Add milk, butter, a dash of salt and pepper to the drained potatoes and mash to a creamy mixture.
- Make gravy and serve with a sprig of parsley.
