chocolate cake, sliced into 3 pieces

double cream, whisked

1 tin
cherries, tinned, syrup reserved

chocolate, melted, then slightly cooled

chocolate, grated, for topping
Method
- Take a round chocolate cake and slice into 3 layers.
- Layer with whisked double cream, soaking each slice with tinned cherry syrup, then add some cherries from the tin.
- Top with the next slice, then juice, cream, and the rest of the tinned cherries.
- Put on the top slice and press together lightly.
- Cover with slightly cooled icing of cream and chocolate melted together.
- Put a few kept-over cherries in the middle of the top, then cover the cherries with a little grated chocolate.
