Christmas Tree Cake

Ingredients

  •   cake
  •   white ready-to-roll icing
  •   green ready-to-roll icing
  •   green food colouring, diluted
  •   red food colouring
  •   gold and silver balls
  •   ribbon
  •   potato, halved, tree shape carved from one half and tub shape from the other

Method

  1. Cover the cake with white ready-to-roll icing and the board with green icing.
  2. Make potato stamps by halving a potato and carving out a tree shape from one half and a tub shape from the other.
  3. Press the tree stamp into diluted green food colouring and press on top of the cake to make several tree shapes.
  4. Using red food colouring, do the same with the tub stamp to print tub shapes on the cake.
  5. Decorate the trees and tubs with gold and silver balls and tie the cake with ribbon.

Notes

Use potato stamps to create the tree and tub decorations. Halve a potato and carve out a tree shape from one half and a tub shape from the other.
