Ingredients
- 2 lb. ripe tomatoes
- 1 level teaspoon salt
- 1 level teaspoon caster sugar
- juice of ¼ lemon lemon, juiced
- pinch black pepper
Method
- Put tomatoes into a pan with 1 pint cold water. Bring to the boil and simmer for 10 mins., or until soft.
- Rub through a nylon sieve into a clean pan.
- To the pulp, add salt, sugar, lemon juice and pepper. Bring to the boil and simmer for 2 mins.
- Cool and chill.
