Ingredients
- 8 oz plain flour
- 2 heaped teasps. baking powder
- ½ teasp. salt
- 1 egg
- 1 oz caster sugar
- 2 ozs butter or margarine, cut into cubes
- milk
- egg, beaten, for glazing
Method
- Put flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and butter into mixing bowl. Turn to medium speed until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
- Mix to a soft dough with milk or egg and milk.
- Turn onto a floured board. Roll out to ¾" thickness and cut into rounds.
- Place on baking tray. Brush over with beaten egg and milk.
- Bake at 475°F (Gas 8) for approximately 15 minutes.
Notes
Egg is optional. Can mix with milk only or egg and milk.
