Ingredients
- 1 large onion
- 700g (1½ lb) Brussels sprouts
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil
- garlic
- salt and ground black pepper
- dry sherry
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- walnut pieces
Method
- Very finely shred the onion and Brussels sprouts.
- Heat the oil in a large frying pan. Add the garlic and cook for 1 min.
- Add the shredded onion and Brussels sprouts. Stirring, cook for 4 to 5 min. Season.
- Stir in the sherry and soy sauce and cook for a further minute. Stir in the walnut pieces.
Notes
A new look for a traditional vegetable. Stir-frying leaves the vegetables tender, but still crisp.
