Fidget Pie

Cook 1 h 30 min From Traditional Shropshire dish

Ingredients

  • 1 lb potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • ½ lb onions, sliced
  • ½ lb apples, sliced
  • 8 oz cooked Danish bacon, cut into small pieces
  • ¾ pint stock, seasoned
  •   pastry

Method

  1. Peel and slice the potatoes, onions and apples.
  2. Cut the cooked Danish bacon into small pieces.
  3. Arrange in a pie dish in the order of potato, bacon, apple and onion.
  4. Pour in ¾ pint of seasoned stock.
  5. Cover with pastry and bake in a moderate oven for 1 to 1½ hours.

A traditional Shropshire dish. Cook time is 1 to 1½ hours in a moderate oven.
