Ingredients
- flour, sifted
- salt
- baking powder
- margarine
- milk
- tomatoes
- cheese, grated
- bacon, cut into strips
Method
- Preheat the oven to 200°C / 400°F / Gas 6.
- Sift flour, salt and baking powder into a large mixing bowl. Add margarine and rub in until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Add milk and mix to a soft dough.
- Turn out onto a floured surface and knead lightly until smooth. Shape into a flat round approximately 15cm / 6in across and place on a lightly greased baking sheet.
- Spread the tomatoes on top, sprinkle over the cheese and lay the strips of bacon on the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven until golden and cooked through.
