Yorkshire Pudding

Serves 4 Cook 30 min

Ingredients

  • 4 oz plain flour, sieved
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ pint milk or milk and water
  • pinch salt
  • 1 oz dripping or lard, melted

Method

  1. Sieve the flour and salt together in a mixing bowl. Make a 'well' in the flour and break in the egg.
  2. Whisk at slow to medium speed, adding the milk gradually. Turn to fast speed and whisk until thick and creamy.
  3. Melt the dripping in a baking tin and when hot pour in the mixture. Bake at 475°F (Gas 8) for approximately 30 minutes.
