Ingredients
- 350g/12oz minced lamb or beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 25g/1oz wholemeal breadcrumbs
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp ground cardamom
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp garlic salt
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tbsp sunflower oil
- 25g/1oz butter
Method
- Put the mince, onion, breadcrumbs, egg, spices, garlic salt and parsley in a food processor or blender and whizz until well combined. Divide the mixture into eight balls and mould these into burger-shaped patties.
- Heat the oil in a frying pan and add the butter. When the butter has melted, fry the patties for about 5 minutes on each side until well browned. Serve at once.
Notes
These mildly spiced patties make a perfect first course; or serve them for supper with chutney, chapattis and a raita salad.
