Puff Fruit Slices

Ingredients

  •   Jus-Rol pastry sheets
  •   eating apples, sliced into thin segments
  •   egg white, beaten
  •   caster sugar
  •   apricot jam, melted

Method

  1. Take some Jus-Rol pastry sheets and trim and remove the edges.
  2. Cut the sheets into halves, or into eighths if you're using the larger size, and lay them out on a baking sheet.
  3. Slice some eating apples into thin segments and press them gently into the middle of the pastry rectangles.
  4. Brush the borders with beaten egg white and sprinkle lightly with caster sugar. Bake for 10-12 minutes at 220°C/425°F/Gas Mark 7.
  5. If you like, when you remove them from the oven, brush on a little melted apricot jam or sprinkle again with caster sugar.

Notes

Use larger Jus-Rol pastry sheets cut into eighths, or smaller sheets cut into halves. When removed from oven, optionally brush with melted apricot jam or sprinkle again with caster sugar.
