Creamy Ideal Fudge

Serves Makes 2lb Cook 30 min

Ingredients

  • 3oz butter
  • 1½lb granulated sugar
  • 1 large can Nestlé Ideal Milk
  • few drops vanilla essence

Method

  1. Lightly grease a 7" square tin.
  2. Melt butter in a large heavy based saucepan.
  3. Add sugar and Ideal Milk. Heat gently, stirring until the sugar has dissolved.
  4. Boil mixture steadily, stirring for 20-30 minutes until it reaches 248°F or until a little of the mixture when dropped into cold water forms a soft ball.
  5. Remove from the heat and add vanilla essence.
  6. Beat with a wooden spoon until it thickens, then pour into the prepared tin.
  7. Mark into squares. When fudge is set, turn out and cut into squares.

Notes

Boil mixture until it reaches 248°F or until a little of the mixture dropped into cold water forms a soft ball.
