Apple Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 medium cooking apples, peeled, quartered and each quarter sliced into 3 long pieces
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • about ½ teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon sugar, brown or white
  •   powdered cinnamon

Method

  1. Peel and slice 2 medium cooking apples. Slice each quarter into 3 long pieces.
  2. Put a very small amount of water in the pan (2 tablespoons). Put the apple slices over the water and sprinkle with lemon juice (about ½ teaspoon).
  3. Add 1 tablespoon sugar (brown or white) and powdered cinnamon.
  4. Heat on low gas and stir after 2-3 minutes.
  5. Leave on medium heat until it softens and purees.

Notes

Can freeze 3-4 weeks or more.
